Gujarat Diploma to Degree Engineering Admission
Gujarat Diploma to Degree (D2D) Admission is the official lateral entry pathway for diploma holders seeking direct admission into the second year of B.E. and B.Tech programs across Gujarat. The admission process is administered by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat, and is among the largest diploma-to-degree admission systems in western India. The D2D system enables diploma graduates to join engineering degree programs directly in the third semester, saving one academic year while continuing their technical education. Candidates can seek admission into government engineering colleges, grant-in-aid institutions, autonomous colleges, and self-financed engineering colleges approved by the Government of Gujarat. Engineering disciplines available through Gujarat D2D admissions include Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Data Science, and other emerging fields. In recent years, Gujarat has witnessed strong participation in diploma-to-degree admissions, with tens of thousands of students applying annually for engineering seats across the state. The state's growing industrial ecosystem spanning manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, electronics, renewable energy, and information technology creates significant opportunities for engineering graduates. The admission process generally includes online registration, document upload, merit list preparation, counseling, choice filling, seat allotment, fee payment, and reporting to the allotted institution. Students admitted through D2D programs become eligible for placements, higher studies, government recruitment examinations, and professional certifications.
Candidates should possess a Diploma in Engineering and Technology from a recognized institution approved by AICTE or the appropriate state authority. Admission rules are prescribed by ACPC and may include diploma merit, entrance examination requirements, and reservation policies applicable for the admission year.
