Preparing LEET
Haryana LEET is the primary admission route for diploma holders seeking direct entry into the second year of B.E. and B.Tech programs offered by engineering colleges across Haryana. The admission process is administered through Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) and provides diploma graduates with an efficient pathway to complete an engineering degree in three years. The examination and counseling process attract thousands of candidates every year from Haryana and neighboring states due to the presence of reputed government and private engineering institutions. Students gain access to branches such as Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, and emerging technology disciplines. The syllabus focuses on diploma-level engineering fundamentals and technical knowledge relevant to the candidate's branch of study. Candidates are assessed on analytical ability, conceptual understanding, and engineering aptitude developed during diploma education. Admission through Haryana LEET offers significant advantages including direct second-year entry, reduced academic duration, lower educational costs, and improved employability. Many students pursue lateral entry after completing diplomas from polytechnic institutes because it allows them to continue their technical education without repeating first-year engineering coursework. The counseling process typically includes online registration, merit preparation, document verification, choice filling, seat allotment, fee payment, and reporting to the allotted college. Successful candidates can pursue engineering education at government engineering colleges, state universities, and AICTE-approved institutions across Haryana. With strong industrial growth in Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, and Panipat, Haryana LEET remains one of the most important lateral entry opportunities in North India for diploma holders seeking technical careers in software, manufacturing, electronics, infrastructure, and emerging engineering sectors.
Candidates must generally possess a diploma in engineering or technology from a recognized institution. Certain categories of B.Sc. graduates with Mathematics may also be eligible as per admission regulations. Minimum qualifying marks are usually prescribed by HSTES.
