Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Lateral Entry
OJEE LEET is the official lateral entry admission examination for diploma holders and eligible B.Sc. graduates seeking direct entry into the second year of B.Tech programs in Odisha. The examination is conducted under the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Committee and provides access to numerous government, private, and autonomous engineering institutions. The examination is highly regarded among diploma students due to the quality of engineering colleges participating in the counseling process. Candidates can gain admission into various engineering disciplines including Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and emerging interdisciplinary branches. The syllabus is based primarily on diploma-level engineering education and focuses on technical competency, analytical reasoning, mathematics, and core engineering principles. The examination is conducted in computer-based mode and is followed by a centralized counseling process. Students qualifying through OJEE LEET benefit from direct second-year admission, reduced educational costs compared to restarting a four-year degree, and improved employment opportunities after graduation. The examination is widely considered one of the most important lateral entry pathways in Eastern India.
Candidates should possess a diploma in engineering or technology from a recognized institution. B.Sc. graduates with Mathematics may also be eligible according to current admission regulations.
