Rajasthan Lateral Entry in Engineering Programme (LEEP)
Rajasthan Lateral Entry in Engineering Programme (LEEP) is the official admission process for diploma holders seeking direct admission into the second year of B.Tech and B.E. programs offered by engineering colleges across Rajasthan. The process is administered through the Centre for Electronic Governance (CEG Rajasthan) and the Directorate of Technical Education, Rajasthan. The program is specifically designed for students who have already completed a diploma in engineering and technology and wish to obtain a bachelor's degree through the lateral entry route. Candidates are admitted directly into the third semester of engineering programs, allowing them to complete their degree in three years rather than four. Rajasthan LEET provides admission opportunities in government engineering colleges, government-aided institutions, private engineering colleges, and institutions affiliated with Rajasthan Technical University and other recognized universities. Students can pursue branches such as Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Cyber Security, and other emerging technology disciplines. The admission process is generally merit-based and involves online registration, preparation of merit lists, counseling rounds, seat allotment, document verification, fee submission, and admission reporting. The system ensures transparent allocation of seats across participating institutions. Engineering graduates admitted through Rajasthan LEET gain access to technical careers in software development, infrastructure, manufacturing, electronics, government organizations, startups, and higher education pathways such as M.Tech, MBA, and research programs. Rajasthan's rapidly expanding technology, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors continue to increase demand for qualified engineering professionals.
Candidates must generally possess a Diploma in Engineering and Technology from an AICTE-approved institution. B.Sc. graduates with Mathematics and certain vocational qualification holders may also be eligible under prevailing admission regulations. Most institutions require a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying examination, with relaxation available for reserved category candidates according to Rajasthan Government norms.
